DDTC Country Policies and Embargoes

It is the policy of the United States to deny licenses and other approvals for exports and imports of defense articles and defense services, destined for or originating in certain countries. Specific policies of denial for individual countries are articulated in ITAR § 126.1

List of Embargoed Countries:

• Afghanistan • Ethiopia • South Sudan
• Belarus • Haiti • Sudan
• Burma • Iran • Syria
• Cambodia • Iraq • Venezuela
• Central African Republic • Kyrgyzstan • Zimbabwe
• China (PR) • Lebanon
• Cuba • Libya
• Cyprus • North Korea
• Democratic Republic of the Congo • Russia
• Eritrea • Somalia
